Thesis: Chapter eight is a more detailed presentation of the prophecies of the silver and bronze kingdoms of chapter two, and the bear and leopard kingdoms of chapter seven: these are the Medo-Persian (silver and bear) and Greek (bronze and leopard) empires.
Introduction: In our look at the history of imperialism from the divine revelatory perspective in chapter two, the interpretation of the 2nd and 3rd world empires was given one verse. In our repeat look in chapter seven, the first through third empires were given less than one verse. now we noted that chapters 3-5 were given over to developments within the golden head/lion empire. These developments included both the "golden head" as well as the "plucking of the eagle's wings of the lion" empire (Babylon).
In this study we are going to see that there is a similar development of the silver/bear and bronze/leopard empires in chapter eight under a new characterization as "ram and he-goat" empires.
